Tree ferns and giant King ferns, in Ward's Canyon, Carnarvon Gorge, Queensland, Australia. The King fern is only found in a few isolated pockets around northern Australia. It has survived from ancient times, a truely magnificent fern. The tall ferns in the picture are tree ferns, and the large ferns at their base are the king ferns. They can have fronds up to 3-4 metres in length.

Well after much drama and a long wait, I have the blog working again.Hopefully we can keep it working and bring you some interesting stuff in the lead up to Christmas and beyond. I will take this oportunity to tell you that our 2016 wall and desk calendars are now available, and selling like hot cakes. Another hot item is the 12'"x18" aluminium prints. They can be hung in outdoor areas, such as bbq areas, and are not affected by the elements, although to stop fading I would keep them out of direct sunlight. Canvasses are still popular, and photos on acrylic glass are also proving to be popular. Stay tuned, lots more to come.

Old wagon route

We have had some rain at last, and everything has greened up, for now anyay. This is a photo of the old range crossing carved out of the sandstone by hand, by Chinese workers around 1900, on the Staircase Range, between Rolleston and Springsure. Wagons full of wool bails, or supplies were hauled through here drawn by bullock teams.

I was actually trying to photograph the storm, but it fizzled out and I ended up with a sunset. Wouldn't this look awesome on a 20" x 80" print on your wall.

Who ever gets sick of western sunsets. I might blow this one up and hang it on the lounge room wall.
